An operating theatre is a facility within the hospital where surgical operations are carried out in an aseptic environment. Ezulwini Private Hospital Operating Theatre is a brand new Operating suit with Three (3) operational Major Theatres in Total. The Theatre suit is situated on the Lower Ground Floor just adjacent to Adult ICU. Theatre 1 is for General surgery, Ophthalmology and Urology surgeries. Theatre 2 is for Obstetrics and Gynecology cases. Theatre 3 is for clean neurosurgery, orthopedic and ENT surgery.  Theatre 3 is a Smart theatre. Environment and airflow of theatre is individually maintained with HEPA filters as per the international infection control norms. All theatres have a laminar airflow system. All theatres have the Gas Scavenging system (AGS). Operating theatres are equipped with LED theatre lights, smart model anesthetic machines, diathermy machines, multipara monitors etc. The suit consists of a Separate receiving area and Recovery area. The Recovery room has a capacity of three beds. EPH Theatre complex also consists of two staff restrooms, male and female changing rooms, equipment storeroom, pharmacy storeroom, linen storeroom, medication store room and the Central sterile services department.For infection control the theatre has clearly delineated “clean” areas from contaminated areas of the theatre. We have unrestricted zones, Semi-restricted zones and restricted zones which are the operating rooms. Regulations to keep the theatres ideal for surgery are in place. The theatre department team organizes regular in-service trainings where presentations and hands-on training is done.

Ezulwini Private Hospital theatre is the only theatre in the country with a Cell saver machine for auto transfusion, to combat the blood shortage in the country.
